Three members of the Wellington Folk and Custom Society joined us, in their costumes, to act as our models.
We were delighted to welcome:
- Bishop Blaize - the Patron Saint of Wool-combers. The local workers from the wool industry would elect their own Bishop Blaize and celebrate his Saints Day together in local taverns or workers' cottages where there was a great deal of drinking and merrymaking.
- Saint Brigid of Ireland. Brigid has strong connections with many areas of Somerset and her name is reflected in many place names of the West Country such as Bridport.
- Mr Double Danger the 2nd, is the leader and organiser of the group
