Club Night Report 12th February 2025
Battle with Chard Photography Club
14/02/2025
Rugby Club was full to bursting!! We were delighted that so many Chard members joined us and also so many of our members (except the ones travelling in far away places!!) were also present. The battle was judged by Mac Chilvers who gave a fair and considered appraisal of the images. As always he stressed that the comments were his opinion!
It was hard a fought battle!! The first round was Prints and ended with Chard being one point ahead, scoring two 20s, to Wellington's no 20s!! 176 to Chard, 175 to Wellington.
The second round was PDIs and a reversal of fortunes resulted in Wellington scoring 255 to Chard's 247 - final result was a win to Wellington by 7, with one 20 each, but more importantly, a was a great night with some great images and lovely that so many people from Chard CC came to the Rugby Club.
Thanks to everyone who brought some cakes and huge thanks to Di who managed to keep everyone happy with a cuppa, no mean feat!! Also thanks to everyone who helped to clear up afterwards - it is appreciated.
Next week, our Competition Secretary is to entertain us, with his 'Photographic Journey' - or something similar as he confessed that he hadn't written the talk yet!! - again at the Rugby Club, I'm sure we will all learn something!! The following week we are 'home' again for the September Competition, quite a challenging subject 'Complementary Colours' so it'll be fun to see how members have tackled this!
Don't forget to think about entering images for the WCPF members' exhibition, it is an honour to have an image accepted and helps to add to the good reputation of the club in the Federation. The final hand in date is 9 March at Magelake, Uffculme. This is the judging and results of the Knightshayes Trophy - Two, pair, couple etc. This is a fun event and interesting to watch and very close to home!
I'm not going to itemise every result from last night but the 20s and 19s from last night are:-
Prints - 20 - A Ray of Sunshine - Chard
Stone Chat on Teasel - Chard
19 - Sleeping on the Job - Chard
The Young Apprentice - Wellington
White fronted Bee Eater - Wellington
DPIs 20 - After the Diagnosis - Chard
Underwater - Wellington
19 - Chorus Line - Chard
Preacherman - Wellington
Grass in a Vase - Wellington
