Club Night Report 5th February 2025

Scottish Sister
10/02/2025
Last night we were treated to some great wildlife photography! Mainly birds in Scotland - brought to us by one of the 'Scottish Sisters'. Clare Harte presented her images from travels around Scotland, and Sweden photographing the wildlife .As a non wildlife photographer, I reckon her images must have meant she spent hours waiting for the moment!! There were some really beautiful images. She presented them in a friendly chatty manner in her broad Scottish accent, which meant that I missed some words here and there but the quality of her images made that irrelevant! It was good to be joined by some of our friends from Tiverton and the ex Dulverton Club.

Next seek we have the 'Battle' against Chard at Wellington Rugby Club, which is always a fun but keenly contested event! We look forward to welcoming our friends from Chard CC. It would be much appreciated if we could show our appreciation by bringing some cakes and or biscuits. I seem to have volunteered to bring a gluten free cake!!

It is also the final hand in date for our February competition, Theme - Complimentary colours - ie featuring 2 colours on the opposite side of the colour wheel, and the usual Open, full details are on the website.

It was also noted that WDCC had done very well in the DPIC section of the WCPF Inter Club Competition, coming 7th, not quite so well in the Print section, coming 18th. But special Congratulations to Steve Wilcox who was awarded the Gold Medal in the Projected Image section for his image Stampede - Well done Steve!! Full details are on the WCPF website - https://www.thewcpf.com/inter-clubchampionships

A reminder that the closing date for entries for the WCPF members Exhibition is 9 March. Details are on the WCPF website https://www.thewcpf.com/copy-of-exhibition
