It was good to see a large number of people attended the talk by Kevin Pigney about the use of flash lighting in wild life photography. It was a very technical talk, way over my head!! He does take amazing photos, and he did show us a taster of these. I hope members were able to take something from the talk. He certainly uses a lot of gear to set up to take some of his images. I imagine this is the sort of set up used by photographers who do well in Wildlife Photographer of the Year and other international competitions. The lack of chat, even at break time made the evening a more sombre affair than usual!

Next week is another zoom meeting, we have the return of Stan Farrow, who is talking about Abstract Photography, he is usually full of great ideas! As usual, I'll send the Zoom link at the weekend.

Huw and Chris talked about the Somerset Mono group who meet every 2 months near Ilminster, it's not a club, people just inform the group that they will be attending on a particular day. If you would like any further details, I'm sure Huw - at the Competition email address would be able to send them to you.

On Wednesday 18th December, it is our last meeting until the New Year!!!! It is the Christmas Social, which is one of the few times in the year that we get to chat amongst ourselves. Don't forget to bring in a Christmas card designed by yourself and a photo taken at the flower/macro/still life evenings few months ago, printed out any size A4 or smaller. We hope to also have a quiz or similar - just for fun!! Our usual compiler is unable to write the quiz this year so if you'd like to volunteer..........please do contact Sarah, through me if you haven't got her email address. Also please bring in a plate of 'Sharing food'.
