Abbotsbury Swannery

This is the only place in the world where you are able to walk through the heart of a colony of nesting Mute Swans, spread over a site of some 25 acres. A visit to the Swannery is considered one of the best things to do in Dorset.

Swannery café

Opening times: open every day 10am – 4.30pm We are now a cashless Cafe and the method of payment is by card payment only. The only cash that can be taken is if it is the correct amount. Open during the day for espresso coffee, tea, hot chocolate, local beer & cider and with single serve wines. Homemade cakes, cream tea’s, cakes made with gluten free & vegan ingredients. Homemade soup & sandwiches. Proper Cornish pasties and homemade light snacks from 12.00pm – 2.00pm.

  • Adult Passport ticket for both Swannery and subtropical garden is £18.95
  • Adult Abbotsbury Swannery only: £12.95
  • Adult Subtropical gardens only: £8.95. Note: Sub Tropical machines are currently not working, please book online or they accept cash.

Subtropical gardens

The Subtropical gardens is a mixture of formal and informal flowers, world famous for it’s Camellia groves and Magnolias. Noted in Dorset for its Rhododendron and Hydrangea collections and the charming Victorian Garden.

Gardens history

Open Daily 10am – 5pm last entry between 3 and 4pm.

Café cater for customers with allergies & dietary requirements. Gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan products are always available.
