April Competition
Good Morning Everyone
Last night was our last competition of the 22/23 Season. The themed section subject was 'Food' and of course the usual 'Open'. We welcomed Ian Bateman from Exmouth Camera Club, a very experienced photographer who judged our images in a very expert and fair manner, giving his opinion and helpful advice generously. There were some great images in both sections. It was fun to see the images members had chosen to take and present for the Themed section. Both sections had great images in a wide range of subjects. It is wonderful to see people experimenting with different genres and styles.
Congratulations to everyone who features in the line-up, Peter Elliston and Steve Wilcox for their first places, and special mention for Steve Wilcox who had all four images held back. A big shout out to everyone who entered; without you there would be no competition! A great competition to round off a great season of competitions.

Huge Congratulations to Peter Elliston who secured top place in the league table, he has certainly treated us to some great images over the year - he's the one to beat next year!! The full league table will be on the web site shortly. (It might be already, Paul is so efficient!!)
Paul, our Competition Secretary pointed out that 28 members had entered competitions over the year, which from a membership of about 40 is a great proportion, so well done everyone.
I feel we should all give a huge thank you, round of applause etc to Paul, the retiring Competition Secretary. What an amazing job he has done over the past years, through the covid era, and before and after. Everything has always run smoothly. We have had some great judges and the technology has run smoothly under his expert management. We welcome Huw Thomas who is taking over the role. We will all, I'm sure, give Huw all the help and support that he wants/needs.
Next week is the AGM, followed by a 'Social' and friendly end of season competition, (no points towards the league table!!). There will be important items to discuss!!
