Unfortunately the road to the Triscombe stone from the South-West is no longer passable & I am therefore revising our starting point. We will now meet at Crowcombe Gate at 10-30am
Take the A358 from Bishops Lydeard towards Minehead for approx 5 Miles and take the first right turn signposted to Crowcombe. As you approach the village pass the school on your left and take the next turn right signposted Over Stowey 3 / Nether Stowey 4; after a few yards fork left up Crowcombe Coombe. Follow this up a steep incline to the summit of the ridge go past the gates at the top and start to descend. I intend to be there to meet you. Park here.

There are a number of options from here including (for the fit and energetic) a 5 km round trip to visit the elusive Triscombe Stone.
Whatever you decide you will need sensible footwear for wandering off-road and I suggest some form of weather proof coat – just in case the weather turns !!
We will all return to this point at about 12-30 to enjoy our picnic lunch. After lunch (say about 1:30), I will hand over to Barbara who will look after our afternoon programme.
